What is an RCDD?
What does an RCDD do?
Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDDs) develop plans for the installation of telecommunications cabling distribution systems in buildings. They may be new buildings, or the cabling may be added to enhance a current infrastructure. As an RCDD, you determine the telecommunications needs of the company, examine the structure, design the plans to outline where the cables should be installed, and oversee the installation of the system. You may also be responsible for ensuring the project complies with industry standards, maintaining the cabling system, and evaluating how long it should last. The title of RCDD signifies certification in the field by the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI).
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an RCDD, and why are they important?
What are some common challenges that RCDDs face when coordinating large-scale telecommunications projects?
What is the difference between Rcdd vs RBT?
| Aspect | Rcdd | RBT |
|---|---|---|
| Certifications | Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, additional specialized training in developmental disabilities | RBT certification, focused on behavior analysis techniques |
| Work Environment | Assist individuals with developmental disabilities, often in clinics, homes, or schools | Implement behavior plans under supervision, typically in similar settings |
| Employer & Industry | Behavior analysis agencies, healthcare, educational services | Behavior analysis agencies, healthcare, educational services |
The main difference between Rcdd and RBT is that Rcdd professionals often have additional training in developmental disabilities and may perform broader roles, while RBTs primarily focus on implementing behavior plans under supervision. Both roles are essential in behavior analysis and share similar work environments and certifications.
