The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum has openings for non-exempt Guest Experience Specialists in the Guest Experience Department.
Company Overview: Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum documents and interprets the history of country music-a musical genre and culture central to the identity of the city, the state, and the nation. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the museum proudly combines subject expertise, ambitious research, and preservation of an unparalleled collection with expressions of creativity in music, art, and history. The museum collects artifacts that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music while providing diverse learning opportunities. The core exhibit follows the story of country music from its folk beginnings through its emergence as a commercial art form. Rotating exhibits examine a broad range of topics, from country classics to ultra-contemporary and emerging artists in American Currents. The museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Elvis Presley and many others recorded.

Position Overview: The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is recruiting for seasoned Guest Experience Specialists to provide excellent customer service to insure a personal and pleasant museum experience for our guests. Duties include serving as an ambassador for the Museum, RCA Studio B, and Hatch Show Print.
Specific Job Duties:
  • Actively sell the museum, membership, Historic RCA Studio B, and Hatch Show Print Tour admissions along with other tour options and packages in order to meet department goals
  • Assist, answer questions and navigate museum visitors throughout their visit
  • Be able to provide information about not only the Museum but also Nashville as a tourist destination
  • Operate Tessitura ticketing and reservation system to process walk-up sales, voucher redemptions, member and guest check-in, and refunds
  • Follow all cash-handling protocols to ensure accurate and efficient sales transactions
  • Work after-hours special events as needed

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work flexible schedule with short notice.
  • Experience in frontline customer service positions.

Key Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
  • Customer service is crucial!
  • Communications, public speaking, and organizational skills are a must
  • An open, friendly attitude and pro-active sales skills are also essential
  • Prior customer service and cash-handling experience is required
  • Versatility is key, as the ideal candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Knowledge of the Nashville area and its music history is a plus.
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some evenings
