The Effector RF Design Department is seeking current college students for an RF Design position to work with a variety of programs as a contributor to detailed design, simulation, product development, and initial product testing.  The successful candidate will have educational experience and professional interest in designing RF and microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters.  This role includes design and test activities that span preliminary design to integration.  Products we develop support radar and datalink applications on a variety of tactical missile programs.  Critical to this role will be designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments.

All candidates will work within a larger team at Raytheon.  Candidates perform meaningful engineering tasks for their assigned projects and will also have access to a variety of career development opportunities.  These include access to technical mentors and the ability to “shadow” experienced professionals to learn about real industry positions.

This position is in Tucson, AZ and is an on-site role.

What You Will Do

  • Supporting design and development of transmitters, receivers or exciters.

  • Experience designing and optimizing RF circuits – either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.)

  • Working in a lab to accomplish component characterization as well as module verification and integration of sensitive RF Hardware.

  • Supporting design of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals.

  • Schematic capture and detailed design.

  • Provide engineering support through participation in project design reviews, peer reviews, briefings to internal leadership and external customers for all phases of development tasks.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major is required.

  • Electronics, electromagnetics, analog, or RF design coursework.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.

  • Solid background and practical understanding of RF electronics design considerations (to include experience or relevant course work).

  • Experience with any of the following tools: Mentor Xpedition xDX Designer, System Vision, MATLAB, MathCad, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and Advanced Design System (ADS).

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
