Job description

Sirna & Sons Produce, a fourth-generation family-run wholesale food distributor and a FreshEdge LLC company, is currently hiring non-CDL local drivers in Ravenna, OH. Our distribution network covers Ohio, Central Pennsylvania, and Northern West Virginia, providing fresh produce, dairy, and specialty items six days a week to various establishments such as restaurants, hotels, country clubs, schools, and institutions. We take pride in providing our customers with only the freshest produce.

Compensation:

  • Starting Hourly Pay: Non-CDL $ 19 - $20 an hour, Any CDL $20 - $21 hour depending on experience or license type 
  • Average annual earning range: $51,000 - $57,000
    • Hourly Base Rate with 45-50 average hours per week
    • Overtime is paid after 40 hours worked
  • Additional Pay Incentives:
  • Safety Bonus: Eligible after 90 days
    • Monthly safe driver raffle, $100 if selected
  • Paid via direct deposit weekly

Home Time, Schedule & Route:

  • Home Time: Home daily
  • Schedule: Monday - Saturday (5-6 days per week)
    • Work every Saturday and off every Sunday and one other day off during the week
  • Shift: Typically 8-12 hour shifts with start times varying typically between 3 am-5 am (until work is done)
  • Route: Deliver to cities across OH, PA & WV
    • Routes can be 15-25 stops per day
    • Deliver 300+ cases per day (up/down stairs at some locations)
  • Level of Touch: Touch Freight, load & unload
    • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50lbs with no assistance
    • Be able to use 2-wheel dolly

Equipment:

  • Freightliner M2 Trucks, International MV607 (2019-2024)

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be an eligible For-Hire Driver or have a Class D license or greater (no endorsement required)
  • Drivers with a CDL A, B or C may still apply
  • 1 year of box truck driving experience is required
  • 0 DUI/DWI are allowed
  • Must have no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and proven safe PSP Score
  • Must have no more than 2 preventable accidents in the past 3 years
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations 
  • Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen 
  • Must be able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions: hot, cold, dust, indoors and outdoors
  • Drivers must live within a 40-mile radius of Ravenna, OH, or be willing to relocate for a position
