Rapid7 is seeking an Austin-based Manager of Commercial Sales who will lead, motivate and scale a team of nine mid-market sellers who collectively sell to North Central customers in the USA.

About the Team

Reporting to a Director who is Austin-based, the North Central team is a high-performing team of Austin sellers eager to drive impact and results for our customers and prospective customers. In addition to Manager Bootcamp, Managers are provided best-in-class sales enablement training and engineering support.

About the Role

As a Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead and scale a team of 9 sellers, driving growth across North Central US commercial accounts.
Specifically, your focus will be to:

  • Manage a sales team responsible for selling the Rapid7 portfolio of software products

  • Strategize with the team on positioning for cybersecurity software products.

  • Recruit, enable and train new hires to the team.

  • Proactively look for new revenue generating opportunities.

  • Coach new hires in developing and becoming proficient in the Rapid7 sales methodology materials and current product knowledge.

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to consistently exceed regional revenue targets.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Customer Success, Marketing, Sales Engineering, etc.) to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

  • Represent Rapid7 at key industry events, customer meetings, and partner engagements.

The skills and qualities you'll bring include

  • 3-5 years of experience in a quota carrying success software sales role (individual contributor)

  • Plus, 3-5 years of experience in a sales leadership role, or team lead responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated industry experience or equivalent SaaS knowledge.

  • A proven record of success and a clear understanding of both the customer buying process and sales methodologies within the software sales space

  • The desire and expertise driving accountability for business growth and target attainment through accurate pipeline management and forecasting.

  • Knowledge of the channel ecosystem

  • Demonstrated charismatic leadership that attracts talent, fosters individual growth, and scales the team through its next developmental phase.

  • Ability to partner cross-functionally across Product Marketing, Engineering, Customer Success, and People Strategy to deliver sustainable improvements.

  • Strategic decision-making capabilities to resolve challenges efficiently and maintain team momentum.

  • Adaptability to navigate change and ambiguity within a high-growth environment.

  • The ability to travel up to 20% into territory

  • The ability and desire to commute into the Austin office 3 days/ week.
