With a job in Youth Sports, you can help young athletes grow as players and individuals. Your part-time role at the Y can make a lifelong impact on the children in your community! We're looking for officials and gym monitors who can help us keep our seasonal sports programs running smoothly, putting the development of players at the forefront of all we do.
*Starting pay rate is $13.00 per hour
The Mitch Park & Rankin YMCAs are seeking a Fulltime Sports Coordinator to lead and oversee youth and adult sports programming. This position provides leadership for program operations, staff and volunteer coordination, participant engagement, and program growth. The sports Coordinator works closely with YMCA staff, volunteers, coaches, officials, participants, and families to ensure quality programming that supports youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Assist Program Director in the implementation/supervision of programs; through creation of flyers, rosters, project timelines, communicating changes in program offerings to members and staff.
  • The job consists of working with employees of various departments, volunteers, and program participants.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Track Program Statistics.
  • Maintain current program flyers and information at the front desk.
  • Develop program flyers and assist in distribution to schools.
  • Creation of rosters.
  • On time for all work periods and meetings.
  • Entry of program participants into computer.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Communicate and coordinate all purchases with Program Director.
  • Report incidents to Program Director.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Responsible for carrying out approved emergency action plans in the event of an emergency.
  • Complete YMCA officials training course.
  • Assisting Association wide sports program as needed.
  • Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must stay current in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
  • Must complete all required YMCA compliance trainings within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
  • Must have experience in various YMCA programs or other programs similar to those the YMCA offers.
  • Must be in good physical working condition and able to perform the functions of the job.
  • Must display Christian character.
