Class III FAB Machine Set-Up Operator

Location:Albany, MO
Shift:Weekend 2nd Shift

Pay: $21.81 Hour

Position Summary

Are you detail-oriented and mechanically inclined? Join our Albany Plant team as a Class III Fabricator and help build custom, high-quality commercial air handlers from sheet metal. You'll work with precision tools and advanced fabrication equipment in a clean, safety-focused environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the Following:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.

  • Use a tape measure (1/32" accuracy) and protractor for precision.

  • Select, position, and secure tooling and fixtures onto machine.

  • Position and clamp stops, guides, and turntables.

  • Adjust controls to set and regulate machining factors such as pressure and depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed.

  • Locate and mark bending or cutting lines and reference points on workpiece.

  • Position workpiece against stops and guide or align layout marks with dies or cutting blades.

  • Start machine and observe machine operation to reposition workpiece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes.

  • Inspect and/or measure work.

  • Label parts and move them to proper storage location.

  • Document deviations from prints or specifications and take appropriate corrective action.

  • Perform all Class I and II jobs.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Language Ability

  • Ability to read and comprehend the English language - this includes simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shop-floor paperwork, and procedure manuals)

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Math Ability

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to compute rate and percent and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Computer Skills

  • Basic computers skills required

Certificates & Licenses

  • Operating a fork truck is essential function and operator must be licensed by the Company before operating a fork truck

Hourly Hiring Range

$20.00 - $22.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
