Position Purpose
As our Pricing Analyst, you will execute and maintain pricing strategies established by Category Managers while managing multiple pricing zones based on competitive market analysis. This role is responsible for generating insights that support category sales, margin, and rate performance through the use of historical and competitive data. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, knowledge of retail pricing strategy, and the ability to implement pricing objectives within merchandising systems.
What You'll Do & How You'll Make a Difference
• Conduct research, produce analysis, and recommend actions to optimize sales and margin performance
• Perform competitive pricing analysis comparing products against market competitors
• Implement and maintain pricing structures that align with guidelines and financial targets
• Maintain competitive pricing databases to support pricing decisions
• Conduct price sensitivity and elasticity analysis to maximize revenue and profit
• Implement and monitor pricing for key value items (KVIs)
• Utilize pricing tools and systems to execute pricing strategies
• Identify ongoing opportunities for margin and profitability improvement
• Conduct competitive store visits to observe and evaluate pricing strategies
• Maintain integrity of pricing data within the merchandising system
• Enter and update pricing for new, existing, and discontinued items
• Assign items to pricing groups to ensure logical grouping and consistency
• Adjust timing of pricing changes to align with merchandising calendars and execution
• Audit system outputs to ensure pricing accuracy
• Research and resolve pricing issues submitted by stores, category teams, and reports
• Partner with Category Managers to ensure pricing strategies are accurately reflected in systems
• Create queries and generate reports to support merchandising and pricing decisions
• Provide reporting, documentation, and support for pricing inquiries
• Prepare monthly and ad hoc pricing analysis
• Evaluate promotional pricing effectiveness, including buy-more-save-more programs
• Interpret and present report insights to support recommendations and decision-making
• Collaborate with Category Managers on pricing strategies and category objectives
• Communicate pricing trends and supporting analytics
• Provide support for pricing-related issues across the business as needed
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field and a minimum of two (2+) years of analysis experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Knowledge:
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Knowledge of retail pricing concepts, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge of pricing systems, processes, and their impact on overall store performance and value
Skills & Abilities:
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in pricing and analytical tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong work ethic with a positive, solution-oriented mindset
• Excellent communication skills, including listening, verbal, and written communication

Work Environment
