Why Top Survey Managers Join PrimECS

You're not looking for another corporate job.

You're looking for the opportunity to lead meaningful projects, influence decisions, and leave a lasting legacy.

At PrimECS you'll:

  • Lead survey operations on major bridges, highways, rail, tunnels, marine, airport, and transportation projects.
  • Work directly with executive leadership.
  • Have real authority to improve operations and technical standards.
  • Implement ideas quickly—without layers of bureaucracy.
  • Mentor the next generation of survey professionals.

ABOUT PRIMECS

PrimECS is a rapidly growing engineering, surveying, and construction services firm specializing in heavy civil infrastructure throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

We are seeking an experienced Survey Manager to lead the day-to-day technical and operational management of our survey division across multiple active heavy civil construction projects.

If you're looking for another corporate management position buried beneath layers of bureaucracy, this probably isn't the right opportunity. Unlike large organizations, you'll work directly with executive leadership, have real authority to improve operations, and help establish the technical standards that drive project success.

If you're looking to make an immediate impact while helping build one of the region's premier heavy civil survey organizations, we'd like to meet you.

Come and lead Survey Operations on some of the Mid-Atlantic's Most Challenging Infrastructure Projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Survey Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day technical and operational aspects of our survey division by:

  • Managing Survey Party Chiefs, Instrument Operators, Survey Technicians, and field crews.
  • Planning and coordinating survey operations across multiple projects.
  • Reviewing calculations, control networks, coordinate transformations, stakeout packages, cut sheets, and field data.
  • Establishing and maintaining survey QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinating with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and clients.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to survey personnel.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of survey processes and documentation.
  • Helping ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently.

CURRENT & UPCOMING PROJECTS

You'll help support projects including Major Bridge Construction, Rail Transit, Tunnel Construction, Heavy Highway, Marine Structures, Airport Infrastructure, Large Transportation Programs, and Utility Infrastructure, among other types.

Rather than spending years on a single project, you'll gain exposure to multiple landmark infrastructure projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of heavy civil construction surveying (10+ years of industry experience).
  • 5+ years of Experience managing survey crews and office survey operations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction layout, survey control, calculations, QA/QC, and field operations.
  • Experience supporting bridge, highway, rail, airport, marine, utility, or tunnel construction.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing survey professionals.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure is a plus but not required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

PrimECS offers a competitive compensation package including:

  • $120,000–$150,000 annual salary
  • $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates
  • Performance Bonuses based on division and individual performance
  • Health Insurance: Medical + Dental + Vision Insurance
  • 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) and Flexible Work Arrangements
  • Company Vehicle or Vehicle Allowance (where applicable)
  • Continuing Education + Professional Development
  • Leadership Development into a Division Operations Manager

EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE

We're looking for candidates with proficiency in modern heavy civil construction surveying technologies, including GNSS, robotic total stations, machine control, UAV/drone workflows, survey data processing, and industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble Business Center (TBC), Trimble Access, Leica Captivate, and Leica, Trimble, or Topcon/Sokkia survey systems.

WHY JOIN PRIMECS?

Large firms offer stability. PrimECS offers opportunity, influence, and impact.

As our Survey Manager, you'll do more than oversee survey operations. You'll help shape the future of a growing heavy civil survey organization while working on some of the Mid-Atlantic's most challenging infrastructure projects.

At PrimECS, you'll enjoy:

  • Immediate leadership of survey operations across multiple active heavy civil projects.
  • Direct access to executive leadership and the ability to influence decisions.
  • Real authority to improve technical standards, workflows, and operations.
  • Less bureaucracy and faster implementation of your ideas.
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of bridges, rail, tunnels, highways, marine, airport, and transportation infrastructure projects – not just one long-term assignment.
  • The opportunity to build systems, mentor future survey professionals, and leave a lasting legacy rather than simply maintaining someone else's.

If you're looking for a position where your experience is trusted, your ideas are valued, and your leadership will make a measurable impact from day one, PrimECS is the place to build your next chapter.
