We are seeking year round Labourers to joining our guard rail crew and help keep Alberta's highways safe. If you have a Class 5 license, know your way around hand tools and are comfortable working at heights, we want to hear from you!

Work Conditions:

  • Applicants that are local may be given preference due to the location of the work (No Camp or LOA provided)

  • As LHL is obligated to respond to various weather patterns, some shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required

  • Will be provided a pay rate of $21.50/hr with increases based on experience

  • Night shift premium $3/hr

  • Year round employment

  • Extended health, dental, pension and RSP plans

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform various highway maintenance tasks repair and installation of guard rails and highway signs using various hand tools including post pounders, tampers, augers, drills, ladders and other elevated work platforms
  • Assist with traffic control procedures
  • Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Perform other road maintenance duties as required
  • Work outside in all weather conditions

Qualifications:

  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Physically able to perform demanding outdoor tasks and comfortable working at heights

  • Strong knowledge and use of hand and power tools

  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Provide a 3-year driver's abstract

  • ESC Fall Protection ticket is an asset but not required
