Job description

As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be a vital team member responsible for performing automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repairs. With core skills in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and hand tools, you will excel in maintaining and repairing various vehicle components such as transmissions, air brakes, and suspension systems. Your premium skills in experience and heavy equipment operation will further enhance your ability to work on a diverse range of vehicles and machinery. Mechanical expertise will be key in providing top-notch service and ensuring customer satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all makes and models. Includes liquid propane, gas, and diesel engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, lifting systems.
  • Follow company safety guidelines, to properly block up equipment to disassemble as needed and be able to remove components for repair then reinstall.
  • Perform all assigned planned maintenance services outlined on company and construction vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
  • Perform equipment inspections to identify potential problems and safety concerns and document.
  • Record maintenance and repair work completed, process paperwork after the completion of each job and turn paperwork in, in a timely manner.
  • Manage your time and work schedule.
  • Cultivate and maintain customer service skills and maintain a professional image.
  • Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and ensure vehicle is in safe operating condition; complete vehicle checklist as required.
  • Maintain and keep company tools and inventory secure and organized on company truck.
  • Maintain a culture of safety and participate in all safety and company required meetings.

Qualifications

  • 2 years mechanic experience - Auto mechanic experience beneficial and applicable to a general mechanic.
  • Good Mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, internal combustion engines, and hydraulic systems.
  • Good skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to safely operate lift trucks.
  • Flexible, adaptable and can work in an environment that requires frequent shifts in direction.
  • Enjoys working independently.

Previous Experience and Education

  • Mechanical or trade school certificate, beneficial

Physical Requirements

  • Good physical condition and able to stand, twist, walk, pull, lift and bend frequently.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to drive daily.
