PRS Auto is currently seeking a Rail Terminal Supervisor of Operations for immediate hire. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the unloading (driving) of new automobiles from railcars working at the CSX Nashville, TN rail terminal! It's important to note that PRS is an independent contractor of the railroad and is not affiliated with the railroad itself. This position requires no prior experience, as we are committed to providing comprehensive training to ensure your success on the job. While prior supervisory experience is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.

Job Summary:
The Rail Terminal Supervisor of Operations is responsible for coordinating the terminal’s operations to ensure that the retention of service levels satisfies the customer’s requirements. This person will take direction from policies and procedures established by the Company, Vice Presidents, Assistant Vice Presidents, Directors, Assistant Terminal Managers, and Terminal Managers.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the scheduling and coordinating of the automotive activities of the terminal.
  • Assures that personnel is meeting the performance levels of the productivity goals and maintaining acceptable service levels based on set company standards.
  • Prioritizes safety, productivity, and efficiency; has direct contact with customers for unloading the automobiles; designates availability of equipment to meet customer requirements and ensures the security of all operations within the confines of the intermodal yard. 
  • Assists in the company’s safety policies by upholding a high level of standard for all employees.
  • Monitor the automotive freight is handled in such a manner that is cost-effective for the company while meeting the customer’s service standards.
  • Coordinates inventory and auto placement to ensure accuracy and security are established and maintained on all units.
  • Responsible for determining manpower levels, personnel schedules, and duties assigned. 
  • Consistent daily contact is maintained with the Assistant Terminal Managers and Terminal Manager for informational purposes and recommendations to improve productivity and cost controls. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a valid driver's License, be able to pass a background check, and be able to pass a drug test. 
  • Advanced knowledge of the railroad industry from a vocational education institute, apprenticeship, on-the-job training, and/or similar supervisory work experience. 
  • Ability to assist in conflict resolution and mediation between co-workers.
  • Proven managerial skills (preferred but not required) to include ability as a strong leader and positive motivator, success with employee training, and a good understanding of a Collective Bargaining Agreement, government regulations, and industry standards.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with a variety of individuals.
