Pay starts at $21.00 an hour based on experience. 

Entry level position, training will be provided.

Position Summary

Join our aerospace manufacturing team as a Press Operator and put your precision, mechanical skills, and attention to detail to work producing critical aerospace components. You’ll operate and monitor automated and manual processing equipment, control heat-treating processes, perform machine setups and adjustments, inspect finished parts, assemble components, troubleshoot equipment, and work with engineers and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operates automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in various production processes in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Controls heat-treating furnaces, baths and quenching equipment to alter physical and chemical properties of metal objects, using specifications and methods of controlled heating/cooling
  • Places parts in racks, trays, or baskets and places objects on conveyor or loads
  • Determines temperature and time of heating cycle, and type and temperature of baths and quenching medium to attain specified hardness, toughness, and ductility of parts.
  • Use standard heating charts, utilize knowledge of heat treating methods, equipment, and properties of metals.  
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
  • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
  • Installs machine replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
