Manufacturing Engineer/ Programmer

Full Time Technicians Chandler, AZ, US

Overview:

We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer with machine programming experience to join our team at our facility in Chandler, AZ. In this role you will be working from engineering design documents, cad models, specifications and PO requirements to prepare and determine tooling, materials and methods of manufacture required to produce a particular product at the lowest cost consistent with quality specifications. In addition, seeking one that is a skilled NC programmer to develop, optimize and maintain computer numerical controlled programs for CNC and Laser machines.

Education and Experience:
  • An Engineering Degree (Bachelor of Science) and two years minimum experience; or ten years related experience; or a combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment where the principal manufacturing was in the use of exotic metals, preferably in an Aerospace environment.
  • Ability to review and interpret complex engineering blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and 3D CAD models.
  • Proficient in metal manufacturing methods utilizing metals such as Aluminum, Nickel alloys, Stainless Steels & Titanium.
  • Proficient experience with CAD modeling. Experience designing appropriate tools and holding fixturing for fabrication of parts utilizing CAD software.
  • Experience writing, editing, troubleshooting and optimizing CNC programs for 5/6 axis machinery (mills, lathes, laser) using G-code and specialized CAM software like Mastercam. Experience with Prima Power Laserdyne system - Fiber laser experience is a plus
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication methods such as Hydroforming, heat treat, braze, laser cutting, CNC Machining brake forming, welding (TIG and Resistance) and NDT processes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MRP system Syteline or similar.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to immediate supervisor, or to upper management.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures compliance with customer requirements (both dimensional and specification driven requirements). Collaborates with quality and utilizes appropriate measuring techniques.
  • Determines the most cost-effective integrated fabrication and inspection method to meet customer requirements.
  • Prepares shop operation sketches, instruction sheets and maintains production planning.
  • Designs appropriate tools and fixtures for fabrication of parts.
  • Provides technical assistance to manufacturing shop, performs MRB dispositions and conducts investigations required to solve quality and process problems. Conducts root cause investigations and established corrective actions.
  • Provides advanced CNC and Laser programs, troubleshoots and optimizes them to minimize cycle times.
  • Troubleshoots machining/laser cutting issues regarding equipment performance, fixturing and tooling to achieve part tolerances.
  • Prepares program folders which include revision-controlled programs, operation sketches and setup sheets.
  • Resolves process problems and responds quickly to requests related to manufacturing.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and develop plans to implement.
  • Maintains close working relationship with all departments and individuals involved on assigned projects.
Physical Ability:

Ability to stand for extended intervals, lift up to 50 lbs and safely navigate an active manufacturing environment.
