  • Location: Phoenix, AZ
  • Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • Compensation: $23.00-$33.00/hour + shift differential (DOE) for 2nd Shift
  • Multiple Shifts Available:
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Monday- Friday
  • Overtime, including Saturdays, as required

Position Summary
The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC and/or manual press brake machines to form and shape sheet metal parts used in aerospace applications. This role requires strict adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC and/or manual press brake machines to form aerospace sheet metal parts
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and specifications, including GD&T
  • Select appropriate break press tooling (V dies, Z-Bending, radius dies, Die holders and clamping systems) based on part requirements
  • Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, etc.)
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve required tolerances and repeatability
  • Verify material type, thickness, and grain direction prior to forming
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation in accordance with AS9100 and internal procedures
  • Identify and report nonconforming material or process issues
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Follow all safety, PPE, and quality procedures at all times
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with training as needed

Required Qualifications
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of press brake experience, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience forming nickel-based alloys as well as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other aerospace grade materials
  • Proficiency using precision measuring tools
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances and meet strict quality requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CNC press brakes (Amada, Trumpf, Cincinnati, Ermaksan, or similar)
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO quality systems
  • Experience supporting aerospace customers and documentation requirements
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface operation
