Job description

Job Opportunity: Diagnostic Radiologist

The radiology division within our organization is seeking a diagnostic radiologist to join our team. This role is affiliated with a prominent medical group and is based in a vibrant area of Southern California, known as the Inland Empire. Our facility is ideally located midway between Los Angeles and Palm Springs, providing easy access to a variety of recreational activities, including beach surfing, desert camping, mountain skiing, and cultural events in Los Angeles. Additionally, there are six major airports within an hour's drive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in a diverse range of imaging studies, with optional mammography.
  • Participate in the education of radiology residents, including teaching during their integrated clinical year, which commenced in July 2022.
  • Conduct quarterly lectures for family and internal medicine residents.
  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and scholarly activities.
  • Support the department's growth, which handles over 200,000 imaging examinations annually and is continuously upgrading equipment.
  • Provide a portion of the full-time call coverage, including fluoroscopic studies, weekend film readings from home, and shared holiday coverage with colleagues.
Work Schedule

The current call coverage averages 1-2 shifts per week from home, with hours from 7 AM to 4 PM or 11 AM to 8 PM. On-site work is scheduled from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no assignments before 7 AM or after 8 PM. Backup coverage is readily available when needed.

Our organization is a 439-bed teaching hospital affiliated with a university, featuring over 60 primary and specialty care clinics throughout Riverside County. We host residents from various specialties, medical students, and critical care fellows. Our facility has received recognition as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, operates as a Level I Trauma Center, and has established a new Center of Excellence for Research, in addition to being a Primary Stroke Center.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $500,000 to $550,000, depending on experience and faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to departmental compensation plans. Further details regarding compensation will be discussed during the recruitment process.
