Tactical Radio Technician

Location: Remote

The Marlin Alliance is seeking an experienced Tactical Radio Technician to support a federal government customer, providing expert-level communications support, training, and maintenance for tactical radio systems used by DoD and government agencies worldwide.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on tactical radio systems, providing technical guidance, maintenance support, and operational recommendations to government customers.

  • Conduct on-site, virtual, and telephonic training and troubleshooting sessions for DoD and government agency users.

  • Support the fielding, installation, and testing of high-frequency (HF) communications infrastructure, including transit case and rack-mounted systems.

  • Assist customers in developing and revising communications mission plans using advanced planning tools.

  • Provide purchasing guidance and technical recommendations on communications systems, ancillary components, and supporting technologies.

  • Collaborate with systems engineers on waveform testing, codification, and fielding for new and emerging operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required; active Secret clearance required.

  • 10+ years of experience in tactical radio communications, with a focus on High Frequency (HF) systems.

  • Expert-level knowledge of L3Harris AN/PRC-150 and AN/PRC-160 tactical radio systems.

  • Proficiency with the L3Harris Communications Planning Application and related software, including Tactical Chat and WINKDU.

  • Demonstrated experience providing training, troubleshooting, and maintenance on tactical radio equipment.

  • Experience supporting large-scale communications networks for government agencies.

  • Strong knowledge of radio maintenance, upgrade processes, and static installations.

  • Up to 50% travel required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of additional tactical radio systems, including the AN/PRC-117F/G, AN/PRC-152, and UNITY public safety radios.

  • Experience supporting large-scale equipment procurement programs.

  • Experience collaborating with joint interoperability testing programs.

  • Prior support to senior-level DoD commands or agencies.
