Job description

A Radio Promotions Tech at Griffin Media helps drive the Ideal Team Player culture.

Job Summary: A Radio Promotions Technician at Griffin Media acts as the conduit between our listeners and the station during on-site events and promotions. This role assists the promotions and programming departments in various capacities, with the primary responsibility of setting up and representing the station at on-site appearances at diverse locations and events, as well as driving the company vehicle.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing, Marketing Coordinator, Remote Coordinator, Account Executives, Talent, and other department members.
  • Assist with the setup and execution of assigned station events, remotes, and appearances; maintain station promotion and remote equipment.
  • Serve as a liaison for the promotions department and assigned station during events, remotes, and appearances.
  • Set up and maintain proper equipment for live broadcasts and remotes.
  • Coordinate the setup and breakdown of remote equipment.
  • Capture photos and videos during events and post them to the station’s social media channels in real-time to engage listeners and promote the station’s presence.
  • Interact with event attendees to promote the station, distribute promotional materials, and create a positive brand experience.
  • Access company email daily for scheduling purposes.
  • Present a positive attitude at events.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.

Job Schedule: This is a part-time position primarily working 5-10 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, or special projects/events. This position is not eligible to work remotely.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to take and follow direction.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with station clients and listeners.
  • Outgoing, people-oriented individual who interacts well with the public/listeners.
  • Flexible availability, willing to work weekdays and weekends (morning, afternoon, and night)
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
  • Capable of handling the physical and mental requirements including:
    • ability to verbally communicate in English
    • ability to read computer monitor information (words and data)
    • ability to hear detailed spoken word
    • ability to remain sedentary and to travel to work location
    • ability to perform manual dexterity tasks with hands, fingers
