Job description

SSDM Troy, MI (1 - 15 employees Full Service Digital Marketing)

  • $50,000-$85,000/yr - 4 days in office - Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri & Wednesday WFH
  • Full-time / Mid-level
  • Applicants will not be considered if they don't have ALL of the following:
  • 1-3+ years hands-on experience in an agency or digital marketing department
  • Direct experience in GA4, WordPress, SEO fundamentals, and paid media (Google or Meta)
  • Demonstrated ability to execute digital tasks independently
  • Examples of work that show real marketing execution

The whole reason for our existence is to grow ourselves in order to grow those around us. This means exploring, failing and trying again. We believe that through trial and error, the best ideas are born. This is why we promote Fearless Failure, allowing each team member to eliminate apprehension and go all in on presenting a new idea, even if it doesn't end up successful.

We believe in radical transparency, a way of communication that puts everything on the table. Everyone has the opportunity and responsibility to provide feedback and speak freely, no matter who presented the idea. This practice is easy when the news is good. It's when friction and disagreements occur that transparency becomes more difficult, more necessary and far more impactful.

Our environment is built on the fundamentals of safety and trust, not comfort. Comfort leads to complacency, and complacency leads to dull ideas. Through safety and trust, we allow each team member to present ideas with the knowledge that he or she will be heard. This has allowed us to move quickly and create a further impact on each other and our clients.

Summary:

SSDM is looking for its next Digital Marketing Generalist. This role will collaborate with the teams to create innovative ideas and support cross-platform digital marketing execution, including content operations, CMS updates, SEO, reporting, and general digital support across multiple clients.

  • Write short-form messaging for blog posts, website updates, email snippets, and content blocks across a variety of tones.
  • Support basic SEO tasks such as keyword usage, metadata, alt text, formatting, and content optimization.
  • Optimize existing content for clarity, usability, and on-page SEO fundamentals.
  • Perform light keyword research to support content updates and recommendations.
  • Update websites through CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) including publishing content, updating pages, and supporting basic site maintenance.
  • Pull basic performance data from analytics dashboards (GA4, social insights, reporting tools) to support monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Create and manage paid media activities in Google, Linkedin, and Meta
  • Assist in preparing monthly/quarterly reporting by pulling metrics, identifying simple trends, and summarizing insights.
  • Implement simple on-page updates such as title tags, meta descriptions, header formatting, and internal linking.
  • Collaborate with team members to support day-to-day execution across multiple marketing tasks.
  • Help manage social media content publishing, scheduling, and monitoring engagement.
  • Editing, proofing + QA on projects
  • Quickly switch between tasks such as content publishing, reporting pulls, social scheduling, light copywriting, and QA.
  • Learn new platforms and tools independently with minimal guidance.
  • Support account teams with content gathering, asset organization, and light project coordination.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams to clarify tasks, gather requirements, and provide status updates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work creatively while managing a consistent workload.
  • Ability to build rapport and have a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work within a creative team environment.
  • Self-driven, time management and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable navigating Google Analytics (GA4) and pulling performance metrics.
  • The ongoing drive to push the creative envelope and keep up with the latest digital trends.
  • Willingness to learn and be adaptable to change.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Experience working inside CMS platforms (WordPress preferred).
  • SEO copywriting experience
  • 1-3 years of technical SEO experience, paid digital media and analytics experience
  • Ability to write in multiple tones and formats.
  • Execution-first mindset with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data analysis tools and methodology.
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically, and identify and resolve problems.
  • Remain current on industry, customer and technology trends, and look for opportunities to incorporate them into your creative concept.
