About the Role

The Nuclear ALARA Worker supports radiation protection and work planning activities to ensure occupational radiation exposure is maintained as Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) while supporting safe, efficient execution of maintenance, outage, construction, decontamination, and operational activities at nuclear facilities. When not deployed in the field, you will work onsite at the Madison, PA location and report to Field Resource Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of ALARA principles during routine and outage activities.
  • Review work packages, procedures, and job plans to identify radiological exposure risks.
  • Participate in pre-job planning meetings and ALARA reviews.
  • Develop exposure reduction strategies and recommend engineered or administrative controls.
  • Monitor radiological work activities for compliance with regulatory and site requirements.
  • Track personnel radiation exposure and dose trends.
  • Assist with contamination control, access control, and radiological boundary establishment.
  • Promote a strong nuclear safety culture and adherence to station procedures.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Radiation Protection, Health Physics, Nuclear Technology, or related field preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and radiation exposure tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications NRRPT (National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists) certification. ANSI-qualified Radiation Protection Technician experience. Previous commercial nuclear outage experience. Training in Health Physics or Radiological Controls. Experience with PWR and/or BWR nuclear power plants.
