JOB SUMMARY

The Laser CNC Sheet Metal Programmer will create CNC sheet metal programs for both a CO2/fiber laser and punch press machines using Radan CAD CAM software.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Develops CNC sheet metal programs for both a CO2/fiber laser and punch press machines using Radan CAD CAM software.
  • Create flat patterns and nesting layouts to reduce material waste
  • Generate accurate bend sequences using proper K-factors and bend deductions
  • Reads and interprets drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rates.
  • Review engineering drawings and 3D models for manufacturability
  • Troubleshoot and improve programs to increase efficiency and reduce cycle time
  • Must be able to multi-task, remain flexible to shifting priorities and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Follows all safety rules and quality standards including all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs job assignments in a safe and productive manner while maintaining high quality levels.
  • Adheres to standardized work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Keeps work areas clean and organized while taking care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in CNC Programming
  • Experience with Radan CAD CAM Software for sheet metal cutting or equivalent program
  • Experience in CNC programming for both punch and laser machines.
  • Familiar with TRUMPH punch press, Mitsubishi, and Prima laser machines
  • Versed in MS Office Products
  • Must possess an understanding of production procedures.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Must have excellent time management skills and work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
