Job description

This internship is designed for graduating high school seniors entering a cybersecurity, information technology, or related degree program who has previously participated inthecybersecurity or technology-focused programiCSIor similar. The role combines hands-on experience in IT support with rotational exposure across multiple cybersecurity disciplines, giving students the opportunity to explore different areas of security while building real-world skills.

About the Program

The Cybersecurity Rotational Intern Program provides students with a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in both service desk operations and enterprise cybersecurity teams.Approximately half of the internship will focus on service desk responsibilities, helping users troubleshoot technical issues and build foundational IT skills.The remainingportionof the program will consist of structured 8-10 weekrotations across several cybersecurity functions.

Security Operations Center (SOC)
Identity & Access Management (IAM)
Security Engineering & Architecture
Technical Risk Management
Compliance & Governance
Security Operations & Automation

WhatYou'llDo

  • Provide first-level technical support through the service desk, including troubleshooting user issues, password resets, and basic endpoint/network support

  • Assistwith monitoring and responding to security alerts and operational events

  • Participate in hands-on rotations with cybersecurity teams to learn enterprise security practices

  • Support small projects and operational initiatives within each rotation

  • Assistwith identity and access management processes and user provisioning activities

  • Learn how security teams investigate threats, manage risk, and support compliance efforts

  • Work alongside engineers and analysts to improve processes, workflows, and documentation

  • Contribute to security operations through scripting, automation, research, or process improvement projects

  • Participate in labs, simulations, training exercises, and Capture the Flag (CTF) activities when available

  • Develop professional communication, problem-solving, and technical skills in a real enterprise environment

  • Must be in the San Antonio, TX area and able to work a hybrid schedule at our HQlocatedat 281N/Redland Rd.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such asCompTIA ITF+, Network+, Security+,PenTest+,CySA+, Linux+, AWS, Al certifications,or similar

  • Participation in cybersecurity competitions, labs, CTFs, or hands-on technical projects

  • Basic scripting or coding experience (Python, PowerShell, or similar)

  • Exposure to cloud platforms, security tools, or AI-related technologies

  • Experience through internships, school projects, volunteer work, or technical clubs
