WE LOVE OUR WORK.
  • Supervising all parts of the Racing Department including Racing Secretary, Bookkeeper, Racing Officials and Track Superintendent and Racing Services Department including the Racing Services Management and Mutuels.
  • Ensure each department has proper and efficient staffing and be responsible for setting, and meeting, established budget and customer service goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for working with the Racing Services Management to set annual racing calendar and post times to optimize handle and revenue.
  • Responsible for annual planning and execution of racing operational and capital budgets, racing dates, promotions, wagering format, simulcasting schedules and annual racing permit applications for Racing Commission.
  • Communication and coordination with horsemen and breeders' associations and Ohio State Racing Commission officials, including adherence to all Commission rules and regulations.
  • Involvement with racing industry organizations as needed.
  • Coordination with all internal departments to ensure racing goals and objectives are carried out and communicated effectively.
  • Position will include work at direction of the VP of Racing Operations and the General Manager at Mahoning Valley Race Course.
  • Projects at the direction of Corporate Vice President of Racing Operations, as well.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
  • Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course reserves the right to revise or change job duties and responsibilities as the need arises with appropriate notification to Team Members.

Education and/or Experience:ย Bachelor's degree in Accounting from accredited four-year college or university; and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
