Job description

Geriatrician Opportunity

Remo Medical Group, P.A., the affiliated medical practice of Remo Health ("Remo"), is hiring a full-time, 100% remote Geriatrician.

This is a key role that will help us continue on our mission to transform the standard of dementia care.

About Us

Remo is building the new standard of dementia care. As a virtual provider, our expert clinical team designs care around patient and family needs (instead of a one-size-fits-all approach). Our care model empowers patients to age in place, surrounded by those they love. We also empower family caregivers with a vibrant community of other caregivers, expert content, and tools to manage the path ahead. With Remo, patients and caregivers get the support they deserve and providers get the job satisfaction they crave.

About the Role

As a Geriatrician, you will report directly to our Medical Director and play an integral role in our ability to pursue our mission by leading the clinical team. The leader in this role will evaluate and manage a panel of follow-up patients with cognitive disorders and their caregivers (dyads), other members of the clinical team, lead educational efforts, and work closely with the Medical Director on hiring and training new providers as we expand to new markets. If you believe that the current standard of dementia care is unacceptable, and you're passionate about building better care models for patients living with dementia and their caregivers, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Be Doing
  • Evaluate and manage a panel of patients with cognitive disorders and their caregivers, with the full support of an interdisciplinary team (Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, Social Worker, Care Navigator).
  • Identify areas of improvements in the care model and technical platform so we can continue to improve quality of care, dyad satisfaction, and the provider experience.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Operations function to deliver on our key clinical KPIs — e.g. quality targets, utilization metrics, patient/provider satisfaction, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to provide memory care training and oversight of new hires.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to develop, implement, and maintain a curriculum of regular educational conferences for clinical providers (e.g. clinical case conferences and guest lecturers).
  • Collaborate and provide necessary oversight of the interdisciplinary team by staffing questions that arise requiring geriatric expertise.
You May Be a Good Fit If You
  • Have completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in Geriatrics with extensive experience caring for older adults.
  • Have expertise in dementia and related cognitive disorders.
  • Have experience with and enjoy working in interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Want to work remotely and see patients by telemedicine.
  • Live for taking a holistic approach to the care of patients with dementia and caregivers.
  • Are passionate about educating families and other clinical providers.
  • Think systematically, breaking down complicated problems into manageable initiatives.
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate challenges with creativity and flexibility.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
You're the Ideal Candidate If You Have
  • Licensed in OH, WA, NV, FL (Preferred)
  • A strong understanding of strategies to prevent cognitive decline and dementia, diagnostic approaches to dementia subtypes, interpretation of neuroimaging and neuropsychological evaluations, non–pharmacological and pharmacologic approaches to symptom management, and advanced care planning for neurodegenerative disease.
  • A proven track record of successfully leading clinical teams.
  • A passion for building and iterating on a novel care model and technical platform.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • A belief that the current state of dementia care is unacceptable and want to build a better care model for all the families who need it.
How This Is Different from Other Clinical Jobs
  • This job is 100% remote, providing schedule flexibility.
  • There is no requirement for inpatient time.
  • This is a salaried position (there is no RVU target) with generous vacation, parental leave, and benefits.
  • Full malpractice insurance covered by Remo Health
  • You will have a strong voice in how we do things. Unlike the typical experience of feeling like a peg in a hospital machine, you have agency at Remo. If the EMR could be improved, we want to know. If you think a particular type of patient needs a service we are not yet providing, we want to know. Our goal is to continuously improve care delivery and you will be involved closely in that process.
  • You have the opportunity to do a mix of clinical work, education, and quality improvement work. The allocation can evolve over time depending on your interests.
  • We are passionate about removing administrative and other unfulfilling work from your plate–we want you to be able to focus on your patients and projects.
  • You'll have the opportunity to participate in research and publication without needing to apply for grants.
  • You can be at the cutting edge of care delivery, getting unique insight into the growing area of value-based care and innovative payment models.
Benefits

• 100% Company-paid medical premiums for you and your dependents with HSA options

• Dental and vision plans (50% company-paid premium on employee's dental plan)

• Dependent care FSA

• Rightway Health, clinical care navigator

• Employee Assistance Program

• 100% 401(k) match of up to 4%

• $80 / month stipend for cell and wifi

• 20 days of PTO and 11 paid holidays

• 5 days sick leave

• 16 weeks fully paid parental leave for birthing parents and 8 weeks for non-birthing parents

• Bereavement leave and pregnancy loss leave

• Opt-In Ancillary Options: Short-term and long-term disability insurance, Life insurance, Critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity insurance, Pet insurance, Legal advice
