JOB SUMMARY
The R.I.S.E Gen 1 Peer Tutoring program provides program participants academic support via 1:1 tutoring, group tutoring and academic workshops. We are looking for students who can tutor their peers in English, Mathematics and/or Science related-courses.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a positive leader, helping mentees succeed at SHU
  • Assist students in developing an awareness of academic resources and opportunities, policies, and support services
  • Facilitate and encourage attendance at all R.I.S.E Gen 1 events
  • Attend and participate in leadership experiences with enthusiasm
  • Create and implement workshops and programs
  • Be highly accessible and responsive to the needs of program participants and respond accordingly
  • Participate in performance assessments to identify areas of growth and improvement
  • Represent the R.I.S.E Gen 1 program in a positive, appropriate and professional manner
  • Office duties and other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a current student at Seton Hall University
  • Completed at least 30 credits at Seton Hall University
  • Be in good standing within Seton Hall University
  • Must have received a final grade of an "A" in either courses : English (1/2); Biology (1,2); Chemistry (1/2); Physics (1/2); Anatomy and Physiology (1/2).
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Be available to attend mandatory trainings and events
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work Study
