The Biostatistics Center is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington University located in Rockville, Maryland. The BSC serves as the coordinating center for large scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiological studies funded by federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health. Position Specific Summary
This position will collaborate with programmers as a member of the coordinating center team supporting the NIH-funded clinical research study, Exercise and Nutrition Interventions to Improve Cancer Treatment-Related Outcomes (ENICTO). ENICTO consists of four large multi-center clinical studies evaluating exercise and nutrition interventions during cancer treatment on cancer outcomes.
Essential duties include:
Collaborate on design and implementation of interactive web-based dashboards (e.g., R Shiny dashboards).
Analyze data based on statistical analysis plan under general guidance from the lead statistician(s).
Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Standard Position Description
  • The student will provide advanced technical and/or computer support assistance. 
  • Tasks may include: maintaining and operating technical systems, hardware, and network configuration, planning and coordinating projects and workshops for the department, , designing and maintaining AI-powered tools and agents,  building and managing websites, assisting with prioritization and completion of daily operations, participating in the hiring, training, and supervision of other student employees.
  • Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
