Job description

Job Title: Quoting Specialist

Department: Customer Service

Reports to: Customer Service Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Location: Surprise, AZ

Travel: No


Job Summary: The Quoting Specialist prepares accurate quotes for pricing, builds estimates for special items by gathering information and analyzing material and job costing, and is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production processes.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establish tool Design and Quote standard, modified standard, and custom tools.
  • Collect data by interfacing with customers and sales reps to help make a selection of tool types.
  • Gather manufacturing and engineering data to effectively evaluate production feasibility of the customer request and provide accurate quotations to the customer.
  • Communicate with customers with regards to quotations, applications and design engineering.
  • Assist inside sales with order processing, phone calls, and mail during times of excessive load.
  • Request material quotes for materials when needed.
  • Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels.
  • Evaluate supplies for quality and timeliness.
  • Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.
  • Produce reports based on findings and performance of production.
  • Compliance with local laws, industry standards, Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements, and relevant ISO certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Basic Computer and software skills
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Engineering experience
  • Strong communications skills
  • 3+ years of quoting experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing, Engineering or Related Role, preferably Aerospace related.
  • AutoCAD and Excel


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent proven prospecting and customer service skills.
  • Strong reasoning ability to overcome objections and complete the sales process.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office Products.
  • Ability to foster and maintain customer relationships.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds at times.
