Job description

Quixote is a leading provider of production services for the entertainment industry. Quixote rents production trailers, trucks, lighting and grip and other equipment to support a wide range of productions including long-form television and feature film, as well as high-end photo shoots and commercials. We operate in Los Angeles and New York, while also servicing on-location productions across the U.S.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced part-time, on-call, Class A Driver to safely transport and set up cast and production trailers. This role requires hands-on knowledge of trailer operations, on-site setup, and basic systems functionality to support production needs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Safely operate and tow 33’–53’ cast and production trailers in accordance with DOT, company, and site-specific safety standards.

  • Perform proper trailer landing, leveling, and stabilization at job sites, including the correct use of chocks, blocks, and roll ups.

  • Power up, operate, monitor, and safely shut down generators as required for trailer operations.

  • Set up, secure, and break down entry stairs.

  • Safely deploy and retract slide outs, ensuring proper clearance, stabilization, and operational function.

  • Conduct basic trailer setup and operational checks, including:

    • Reading and monitoring water, waste, and fuel levels.

    • Completing fuel and water filling as needed and ensuring all utility connections are secure and functioning properly.

    • Ensuring satellite systems and related equipment are powered on and operational.

  • Identify, document, and promptly report basic mechanical, electrical, or system issues to a supervisor.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment around trailers and equipment.

  • Always adhere to safety, compliance, and operational standards while performing all duties.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What You’ll Need:

  • Valid Class A License required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience towing 33’-53’ cast/production trailers.

  • Proven knowledge of trailer landing, leveling, and stabilization procedures.

  • Hands-on experience with generators, slide-outs, and trailer setup.

  • Strong understanding of basic trailer systems and functions.

  • Strong communication skills and on-site professionalism.

  • Must be able to navigate smartphone applications and use GPS.

  • Ability to troubleshoot minor operational issues independently.

  • Prior experience supporting film, television, or live production environments.

  • Please note, the candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check, safety performance history report, DOT drug screening, and motor vehicle report.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently move/traverse

  • Ascend/descend steps to enter and exit trailers.

  • Positions self to bend, lift, stoop, reach, setup, and breakdown.

  • Must be able to lift/move/carry up to 25-30 pounds.
