Overview:
Quinnipiac University seeks applications for a full-time Head Coach for Women's Softball. In this position, you will be responsible for total program management, including coaching, administration, recruitment and coordination of a collegiate women's softball program. You will be responsible for the supervision of assistant coaches as well as be actively involved in collaboration with University constituents, athletics administration, and the total development of the softball student-athlete.
This position requires the ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA, and Conference regulations
  • Administration of all phases of softball and team management including recruiting, scheduling, promotion, and budget administration
  • Coach student-athletes during team practices as well as at home and away contests
  • Develop relationships with softball alumni and through community engagement
  • Engage in team promotion through the use of social media and other applicable means
  • Supervise assistant coaches
  • Other duties, as assigned

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience coaching or playing fastpitch softball at the collegiate or professional level,
  • Proven aptitude for coaching as illustrated by a strong work ethic, organizational skills and the ability to interact professionally within the department, the campus, and the national softball community
  • Documented success in mentoring, motivating, and developing assistant coaches and support staff
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance, encouragement and moral support for team members in order to promote overall student athlete well-being and engagement
  • Proven track record of developing competitive teams, improving student-athlete performance, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
  • Demonstrated coaching philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities and supports student-athlete success in the classroom
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
  • A comprehensive reference check which may include the following:
    • A current or former direct supervisor
    • A former assistant coach or colleague
    • Another professional familiar with the candidate's leadership
