Neurohospitalist Opportunities Äì Bridgeport, ConnecticutOpportunities are available for Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neurologists to join a dedicated team of Neurohospitalists in Bridgeport, Connecticut. SVMC is a 473-bed tertiary academic medical center located along the scenic Connecticut shoreline. The medical center is a Joint Commission Äìcertified Primary Stroke Center and is actively developing advanced stroke care, including Endovascular Thrombectomy and treatment of complex hemorrhagic stroke.Position Details

  • Neurohospitalist role with a focus on acute stroke care
  • Vascular Neurology fellowship preferred
  • Provide inpatient consultations and management for ED and hospitalized patients
  • Limited outpatient coverage in the Stroke Follow-Up Clinic
  • Inpatient coverage includes a share of evening call
  • Stroke clinic operates within a transitional care model supported by:
  • - Stroke nurse navigator - Advanced Practice Providers
  • Comfort with acute stroke care is essential, including:
  • - Thrombolytic decision-making - Endovascular Thrombectomy
  • Opportunities for hands-on teaching and clinical supervision of residents, students, fellows, and APPs
  • Participation in:
  • - Neurology didactic sessions - Grand Rounds - Monthly Neurohospitalist Lecture Series
  • Optional involvement in:
  • - Clinical research - STROKENET and industry-sponsored trials - Quality improvement initiatives - Patient experience initiatives - Educational lectures and professional outreach
  • Faculty appointment available with the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University
