If you’re an experienced accountant looking for a position with variety, visibility, and long-term upside, this Sonoma opportunity is worth your attention. Join a highly respected private organization with established interests in real estate, operating businesses, and private investments.

This is not a narrow, repetitive accounting role. Your work will touch multiple funds and related entities, meaningful financial decisions, and assets that matter. You’ll have the chance to make an impact while working in a stable, professional environment that values quality people.

About the Organization

This successful and well-established company has built a strong reputation through smart growth, sound financial management, and a long-term mindset. Leadership is approachable, decisions move efficiently, and employees are valued as key contributors to continued success.

The Position

As the Fund Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting accounting operations across multiple funds, investments, and related entities. • Assist with allocations of income, expenses, gains, and losses among funds and investors
  • Prepare supporting schedules for audits, tax filings, and investor reporting
  • Monitor investment activity and help ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting records
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow activities
  • Handle bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger research
  • Participate in fund accounting and operational improvement projects
  • Work closely with leadership, investment professionals, outside tax advisors, auditors, and internal team members
  • Help strengthen processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy
  • Provide timely financial information to support business and investment decisions
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Applicants with substantial relevant accounting experience in lieu of a degree will be strongly considered
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with fund accounting, investment accounting, private equity, real estate funds, or multi-entity accounting is highly desirable
  • Background in real estate, property management, construction, private investments, or family office accounting is a plus
  • Understanding of capital contributions, distributions, partner or investor allocations, and fund-level reporting is preferred
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar accounting systems
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational ability
  • Ability to manage multiple funds, entities, deadlines, and priorities
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
