Job description

Capital Quarries is seeking to fill an Equipment Operator position based at our Hermann Quarry with travel. This position consists of fluctuating hours, up to 10-hour days.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Dirt removal
  • Run 40-ton articulated truck
  • Operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner under varying weather conditions, while exposed to dampness, fumes, dust, electrical, mechanical, and traffic hazards.
  • Being knowledgeable in the operation of multiple pieces of industry-related equipment.
  • Routine maintenance on the equipment, including keeping equipment clean and operable.
  • Communicate with foreman and coworkers about the daily job specifications.
  • Perform general labor duties when necessary.
  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  •  This position requires climbing, bending, stooping, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in the operations of heavy equipment
  • Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record.
  • Must be able to work as a team on all projects
  • Lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Work overtime, nights, weekends, as needed
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willing to travel/work out of town
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
