Job description

Position Summary

Titan Circuits is seeking a motivated Summer Intern currently pursuing a degree in a STEM field to support engineering and manufacturing activities in a fast-paced PCB assembly environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to electronics manufacturing, SMT processes, quality systems, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Summer Intern will work closely with engineering, operations, quality, test, and production teams to support day-to-day execution while building practical experience in a real manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and manufacturing teams with day-to-day activities related to PCB assembly, SMT operations, documentation, and production support.
  • Assist with improvement opportunities.
  • Learn and help update and maintain work instructions, travelers, checklists, visual aids, labor plans, and controlled process documentation.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and process readiness activities under the guidance of engineering leadership.
  • Observe and support SMT-related operations such as screen printing, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow, AOI, test, and downstream assembly processes as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, and Production to complete assigned projects and action items.
  • Prepare summaries, presentations, spreadsheets, or reports to communicate findings, status, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, confidentiality, and workplace conduct requirements.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another STEM-related field.
  • Interest in manufacturing, electronics, PCB assembly, industrial engineering, quality, operations, or process improvement.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, learn quickly, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; comfort working with data and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow instructions, and meet deadlines in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to manufacturing, robotics, electronics, CAD, data analysis, or lab/project-based technical work through coursework or prior internships.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, root cause analysis, or quality tools is helpful but not required.
  • Interest in aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or high-reliability products.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and move throughout the manufacturing floor as needed.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely around production equipment, materials, and hardware in a manufacturing environment.
