HBK provides civil, environmental, structural, electrical, subsurface utility, construction support services and permitting facilitation. About this Role

HBK Engineering is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to manage the full lifecycle of project permitting. This critical role serves as the central point of contact for all regulatory inquiries, ensuring continuous compliance across local, state, and federal jurisdictions for all engineering projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for navigating complex permitting processes, preparing robust applications, tracking submissions through regulatory agencies, and coordinating internal departmental compliance efforts. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to maintain meticulous records under pressure. Office locations are Lake Mary, FL

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all permit-related inquiries
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing permits
  • Research and prepare permit applications for submission to the appropriate regulatory agency
  • Track and monitor the status of permit applications through approval and construction processes
  • Prepare reports on permit activity as requested
  • Coordinate with other departments within the organization to ensure compliance with permit requirements
  • Keep abreast of changes in permit regulations and advise management of potential impacts
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to permitting
  • Serve as liaison between the organization and regulatory permitting agencies
  • Maintain accurate records of permit activity
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding permit status
  • Additional documentation responsibilities and ability to train others
  • Responsible for working on more challenging permitting projects with limited supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned Railroad crossing permit experience
  • Wetlands and endangered species permitting
