Job description

About Us

We’re the team behind KitBash3D and Greyscalegorilla, two brands united by one mission: to empower 3D artists to bring their ideas to life.

With two decades of combined experience, we’ve helped creators across film, games, and digital media tell their stories and build their worlds. Our software tools and 3D assets have been trusted by artists and studios around the globe, from major productions with Marvel, Netflix, and others, to independent creators shaping the future of 3D.

Now, we’ve joined forces to create the next generation of connected tools that simplify workflows, inspire creativity, and put the artist first.

Two brands. One company. For all 3D artists.

Cargo is our unified asset subscription application where tens of thousands of artists discover, organize, and use 3D assets across productions, from indie games to blockbuster films.

We’re at an exciting stage of growth, bringing together passionate people across technology, design, and storytelling to shape the future of 3D creation, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

About the Role

As the Principal Product Manager for Asset Subscriptions, you’ll own the performance and growth of our subscription business end-to-end. This includes the product experience and the value proposition. You will own how the subscription feels, how it’s understood, and how it performs.

You’ll work across product, design, engineering, marketing, and data to shape a cohesive experience from first touch through long-term usage. What we build and how we explain it are part of the same system, and you will own that system.

This role sits at the center of our platform as we bring KitBash3D, Greyscalegorilla, and other asset offerings into a unified ecosystem. You’ll ensure the subscription offering is clear, cohesive, and worth paying for across multiple customer bases, while driving measurable improvements in growth and retention.

We’re looking for someone who is highly customer-focused, opinionated, and outcome-driven, with strong product instincts, a sharp sense of value and positioning, and a bias toward action. You’re comfortable operating in ambiguity, moving quickly, and using modern tools to accelerate your work without sacrificing quality.

Location: This position can be remote or hybrid and is open to US candidates based in CA, FL, IL, IN, MI, NC, OR, SC, TN, TX, UT, or WA. Local candidates have the option to work out of our offices located in Portland, Oregon or Libertyville, Illinois.

What You\'ll Contribute

  • Business Performance: Own the performance and growth of the asset subscription business, increasing ARR by improving conversion, activation, retention, and expansion through both product experience and how that value is communicated to customers.
  • Customer Insight & Strategy: Develop a deep understanding of our customers, segments, and use cases through qualitative and quantitative inputs. Identify where value resonates, where it breaks, and where the biggest opportunities exist, and use those insights to set priorities and guide decisions.
  • User Experience & Value: Own the asset subscription experience end-to-end, partnering with design and engineering to define, build, and ship improvements that drive user behavior, while ensuring the offering feels cohesive, premium, and worth paying for across the product ecosystem.
  • Product Marketing & Positioning: Define and own how the subscription is understood by customers, shaping its positioning, value proposition, and communication across product, web, and lifecycle touch-points. Partner with marketing and content to deliver a clear, consistent story, and drive experiments that improve how customers perceive and respond to that value.
  • Execution & Leadership: Lead initiatives from idea to launch by working directly with design, engineering, marketing, finance, and operations. Partner with department leaders to ensure campaigns, payments, and policies are handled correctly, while aligning with other product leaders to keep our product decisions and product ecosystem cohesive.

What You Bring to the Team

      • 7–10+ years of experience in product management, growth, or related roles, with ownership of a subscription, SaaS, or marketplace business.
      • Proven track record of improving conversion, retention, or monetization, with clear examples of driving revenue or ARR, not just shipping features.
      • Experience owning a product area end-to-end, including defining the experience, working with design and engineering to ship, and partnering with marketing on positioning and go-to-market.
      • Strong product judgment and taste, with experience building products where perceived quality and value are critical to success.
      • AI-native in your workflow, with hands-on experience using AI tools to prototype, ship, and iterate quickly, and a clear point of view on how AI should shape both product development and user experience.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

      Bonus Points

      • You are based in Portland, OR or nearby. We’re remote-first, but we value having teammates local for occasional in-person workshops and whiteboard sessions.
      • Experience in creative tools, 3D software, or products built for technical or creative professionals.
      • Experience using our products or being actively engaged in the 3D creative community.
      • Experience with content libraries, marketplaces, or subscription products where search, recommendations, and personalization are central to the experience.
      • Experience working at companies where products are already in market with an established customer base, but teams are still small, fast-moving, and require high ownership and autonomy.

      What We Offer

      • Competitive compensation: We believe in transparency and fairness in our hiring process. This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $160,000 - $200,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for profit interest units as part of our total compensation package. Offers will generally fall within this range and take into account various factors including the responsibilities of the position, location of the applicant, experience, skill set, internal pay equity, and other relevant qualifications of the applicant. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of where they may fall within the stated range.
      • Generous paid time off: Including 12 company holidays and 2 seasonal companywide breaks annually, unlimited PTO, and paid parental leave.
      • 401(k) savings plan with generous employer match
      • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
      • Life insurance & employee assistance program
      • $1,000 per year towards professional development
      • Opportunities to work remotely from anywhere in the world
      • Exclusive employee-only guest speakers
      • Bi-weekly team building: we call it Fuzzy Friday
      • Opportunities for professional development and career growth as we grow
