Job description

Quanex is looking for a Machine Operator for our steel department to join our team located in Zanesville, OH. We manufacture the residential Bilco brand products at this location!

What’s attractive about the Production Associate position?

  • The hourly wage for this position is $20.00 per hour.

What Success Looks Like: 

  • Safely prepare, weld, assemble, and handle materials according to specifications.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity throughout the production process.
  • Keep pace with production flow while safely moving and packaging finished products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and actively participate in 5S and Continuous Improvement.
  • Participate in cross-training to be flexible with daily production schedules.
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Be a reliable team player who takes ownership of their work and supports team goals

Your Credentials:

  • Any combination equivalent to High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior production experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of math, with the ability to add and subtract whole numbers.
  • Use of fixed gauges, direct reading instruments and similar devices; where interpretation is not required.
  • Ability to operate MIG welding gun, banding machine, crane and saw.
  • Ability to use measuring tape, square, hammer, chisel, wire cutters, ruler, staple gun and other power and hand tools.
