Job description

Quanex is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team located in Rice Lake, WI

What Success Looks Like:

  • Analyze and execute all aspects of the procurement of raw materials, packaging, MRO, freight and associated services to include competitive bidding, source selection, purchase order creation, and supplier management.
  • Analyze global market developments for key commodities and develop strategic plans to mitigate adverse effects and take advantage of positive developments.
  • Coordinate with Operations on ERP driven requirements to ensure material availability, price/cost visibility and assure compliance with inventory guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal customers on the sourcing and purchase of non-ERP requirements to assure best value for Quanex while meeting customer needs.
  • Negotiate and maintain all terms and agreements with suppliers while adhering to Quanex and SOX guidelines.
  • Manage on-time deliveries from suppliers and maintain/distribute sourcing metrics.

Your Credentials:

  • An associate degree in business is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing or related purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Must have demonstrated skills in conflict resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to this position as they are responsible for sharing and receiving information from all levels of the organization.

The salary range for this position is $54,000 to $82,000 per year w/ bonus potential.
