Job description

Responsibilities
  • Complete all APQP (advanced quality product plan) deliverables for automotive interior new product launches on time, per Inteva PDP
  • Assist in developing the DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Develop and enforce the prototype, pre-production and production process control plans
  • Develop and execute manufacturing quality systems during prototype part builds and transfer requirements & checks to Inteva operations sites
  • Assist with GD&T development & tolerance negotiation; coordinate pre-series dimensional checks, develop tuning/improvement plans to achieve 100% compliance to requirements
  • Develop the measurement strategy required to meet dimensional requirements and assist gage engineers in the procurement of the gauges per customer standards/requirements
  • Conduct dimensional data reviews and propose tuning, tolerance relief & engineering changes to get parts in spec
  • Develop the measurement system analysis plan for all areas of the new product launch
  • Ensure gage repeatability studies (Gage R&R, Bias & Linearity) are conducted on all measurement equipment used on the new launch program and that appropriate corrective actions are taken to improve Gage R&R where data indicates
  • Up to 30% travel to Inteva, supplier and customer locations required to support new product launches at Inteva facilities worldwide
Position Requirements

Required:

  • Must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, ability to work well in several teams at once, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of or experience in light assembly and plastic injection molding, preferably in the automotive industry
  • ASQC/CQM/CQE certification
  • Specific education / training and applied experience in Quality disciplines is preferred, including Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, AIAG Advanced Quality Planning, PPAP, D/PFMEAs, Control Plans, DOEs, MSA/gaging/fixturing, GD&T, Dimensional layouts, Manufacturing Quality Systems and SPC
  • Understanding of PPAP procedures/requirements, APQP
  • Understanding of coordinate measuring equipment for dimensional verification
  • Knowledge and application of statistics & SPC
  • Knowledge of vehicle interior parts and assemblies, and related part constructions and/or designs
Education

Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required. A 4-year technical degree/certification, or a 2-year technical degree combined with equivalent relevant experience, may be considered in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
