Job description

Quality Manager
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Manager to lead our quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives in an EPS Molding facility. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our quality management programs, ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of quality management systems, auditing processes, customer quality requirements, root cause analysis, and supplier quality management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence operational excellence and support long-term business success.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management Systems
  • Direct the company's Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and IATF16949 standards to meet customer-specific requirements and any applicable regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, control plans, PPAP, PFMEA, training documents and other required customer-specific documentation.
  • Manage document control systems, procedures, and records.
  • Oversee calibration systems, equipment, and associated quality processes.
  • Coordinate Management Review Meetings and drive follow-up actions.
  • Support implementation, maintenance, and verification of quality system requirements.

Auditing & Compliance
  • Lead internal audit programs
  • Ensure effective corrective and preventive action processes are implemented and maintained.
  • Monitor compliance with customer, regulatory, and company quality standards.

Product & Process Quality
  • Oversee inspection activities and verification of incoming materials.
  • Qualify new parts and develop work instructions to support production and quality requirements.
  • Manage customer-required quality activities, including:
    • First Piece Inspections
    • PPAP
    • FMEA
    • Process Control Initiatives
    • Lead product and material testing, including density studies, compression, dimensional requirements and drop testing
    • Related quality documentation for automotive and non-automotive applications
    • Analyze data, capability studies, inspection reports and quality metrics to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Prepare and submit customer-required quality reports.

Supplier Quality
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers to ensure materials meet specifications and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with vendors to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead, train, and develop team members in quality-related programs and processes.
  • Lead responses to customer concerns, including containment, corrective actions, customer meetings, on-site reviews and quality reporting
  • Coordinate quality initiatives and training efforts across facility operations.
  • Lead or participate in design reviews, continuous improvement projects, and cross-functional meetings.

Customer Quality
  • Coordinate and respond to customer quality concerns.
  • Drive root cause investigations and corrective action implementation using problem solving tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa Diagrams.
  • Manage evaluation and disposition of returned materials, including issue resolution and corrective actions.

Qualifications
Required
  • Degree in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials or related engineering field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant quality experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive quality engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, GD&T, customer specifications and dimensional tolerances
  • Experience leading internal audits and quality system activities.
  • Knowledge of inspection methods, process controls, and quality documentation. ]
  • Experience with PPAP, FMEA, and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership, training, and team development skills.
  • Ability to lead strong problem-solving and root cause analysis actions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based quality reporting tools

Preferred
  • Experience with EPS molded packaging components, injection molding or similar manufacturing process
  • Automotive industry quality experience a plus.
  • Experience with statistical analysis or quality management software
  • Experience with supplier quality management and continuous improvement methodologies.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and frequently walk, bend, stoop, and navigate production and warehouse environments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to travel including occasional overnight travel.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, safety footwear, and hearing protection.
