Supermarket Refrigeration | Rack Systems | Weekly Travel | Southeast Region

Position Overview

Join our growing team as a Commercial Refrigeration Installer and help deliver high-quality supermarket and commercial refrigeration installations for a company that values craftsmanship, safety, and its people.

DHR Mechanical Services is seeking experienced Commercial Refrigeration Installers to support new construction, remodel, and equipment replacement projects across the Southeast. This is a hands-on installation role involving weekly travel, steady year-round work, and long-term career growth opportunities.

What You'll Do

As a Commercial Refrigeration Installer, you will install refrigeration systems and equipment in supermarkets, cold storage facilities, warehouses, and commercial buildings.

You'll work independently and alongside experienced crews to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstall Commercial Refrigeration Systems
  • Install hangers, piping, insulation, and supports for refrigeration systems
  • Install rack systems, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and related components
  • Set and trim refrigerated display cases and walk-in coolers/freezers
  • Install condensate drain lines and associated piping systems
Read Blueprints & Drawings
  • Read and interpret blueprints, refrigeration schematics, and electrical/EMS drawings
  • Follow plans and specifications to ensure accurate installation
Brazing / Pipefitting / Mechanical Work
  • Perform brazing, soldering, piping, and mechanical installation work
  • Pressure test systems and assist with startup readiness
Safety & Quality
  • Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
  • Follow OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant regulations, and company safety policies
  • Ensure quality workmanship and protect company tools/equipment
Travel & Schedule Flexibility
  • Travel weekly for out-of-town projects throughout the Southeast
  • Work nights or overtime when project schedules require
What You BringRequired Experience
  • 3+ years of commercial refrigeration installation experience
  • Experience with:
    • Rack refrigeration systems
    • Walk-in coolers/freezers
    • Display cases
    • Refrigeration piping and brazing
    • Commercial mechanical installations
Technical Skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with refrigeration tools, gauges, and testing equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Certifications
  • EPA 608 Certification (Universal or Type II) preferred or willingness to obtain
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
Other Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel weekly
  • Ability to lift materials and work in physical jobsite environments
