The Supervisor, Quality Engineering is both a leadership and hands-on QE role with excellent relationship management skills to successfully supervise daily operations of Software Quality Engineering team members. This position is responsible for collaborating with several IT parties to ensure functional and nonfunctional testing in several workstreams is done thoroughly to reduce likelihood of business interruptions and regulatory risks for IEHP. The incumbent works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to build the Test design/strategies and ensure full test coverage of upstream /downstream impacted applications as part of major system enhancement and new projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee multiple major projects, enhancements as well as production support releases on several applications as QA leadership. Provide hands-on assistance to Team Members when needed.
  2. Organize the daily efforts of Quality Engineering Team Members working on multiple applications, monitoring productivity, and providing constructive feedback and coaching. Provide technical leadership to the team related to technical problems, testing solutions, automation framework, and testing standards. Perform annual reviews and set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company's plans and vision.
  3. Develop QA test strategies and test plans for large/complex enhancements, make recommendations, and ensure that project risks are mitigated.
  4. Lead efforts to improve and evolve testing strategies. Work towards overall DevOps process improvement in several IT areas. Organize and improve documentation of business rules and Test management in DevOps or any other tools chosen by the organization.
  5. Work closely with Automation QA team to provide business knowledge and provide manual Regression testcases on stabilized applications to be automated.
  6. Lead the implementation of automated build test processes to ensure that the code delivered to quality assurance are of the highest quality. Streamline the automation in a CI/CD pipeline. Build hands on Automation scripts utilizing tools as needed.
  7. Work directly with business users and IT groups for requirement analysis and test planning purposes in Agile environment and identify any risks or impacts during Sprint planning/early stages of Development.
  8. Oversee and lead root-cause analysis on high priority production issues and contributes towards developing solutions.
  9. Develop Complex SQL reports as needed to investigate data-related issues.
  10. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business partners, ensuring that proper UAT is performed.
  11. Work on a variety of projects involving data management, API test design and test development.
  12. Perform any other duties as required to ensure Health Plan operations and department business needs are successful.

Qualifications
Education & Requirement
  • Eight (8) years of recent experience with test automation tools and processes
  • Experience performing heavy data validation and ETL processes testing
  • Experience with SQL Query Writing and ability to script automated testcases
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity required
  • Preferred: Prior development experience is plus
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering from an accredited institution required

  • Strong comprehensive knowledge and understanding of:
    • Current business practices and computing systems, IT development methodologies and operations
    • Health payer data
    • Healthcare Industry standard message EDI formats like HL7(ADT's, Orders, Charges), X12 (837/834, 270/271, 276/277), NCPDP, HIPPA, and other relevant formats
    • Various types of testing, including Functional, API, Integration, Data integrity, Regression, security, Performance Testing etc
    • Multiple automation frameworks and ability to learn new ones quickly
    • Agile and DevOps processes
    • Process improvement methodologies such as LEAN or other comparable methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong logical reasoning skills and business intelligence
  • Ability to perform API testing using Ready API/SoapUI/Postman and automation of APIs
