Description

The Quality Management System Coordinator is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. The role supports quality assurance activities, document control, internal audits, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives. Quality is the primary focus of this position. As the organization's integrated management system matures within a shared platform (EHS Insight), this role also supports the Environmental Management System (EMS) and, in a later phase, the Safety Management System (SMS), in coordination with the respective system owners. 


This position will be onsite in Greenville SC and support our facility in Poway CA.

Requirements


Quality Management System Administration

  • Maintain and update QMS documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and forms. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP, or other applicable regulations. 
  • Coordinate document control processes, including document review, approval, distribution, and archiving. 
  • Monitor QMS performance metrics and prepare reports for management review. 

Audits and Compliance

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate internal quality audits. 
  • Assist with external audits conducted by customers, certification bodies, or regulatory agencies. 
  • Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions. 
  • Support regulatory inspections and compliance assessments. 

Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)

  • Manage CAPA processes and maintain related records. 
  • Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, complaints, and deviations. 
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. 
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive measures. 

Training and Awareness

  • Coordinate QMS-related training programs. 
  • Maintain employee training records and competency matrices. 
  • Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement culture throughout the organization. 

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for process improvement. 
  • Participate in risk assessments and process reviews. 
  • Support implementation of quality improvement projects and initiatives. 
  • Assist departments in achieving quality objectives and KPIs. 

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare quality reports, audit summaries, and management review presentations. 
  • Maintain accurate quality records and databases. 
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of quality documents.

Environmental Management System (EMS) Support

  • Maintain EMS documented information within the shared platform, including the environmental aspects and impacts register and the legal and other      requirements register. 
  • Track environmental objectives, targets, and associated action plans. 
  • Support the environmental compliance calendar (air, water, waste, and hazardous materials) and associated reporting deadlines. 
  • Route EMS corrective and preventive actions and audit findings through the CAPA program and track them to closure, in coordination with the system owner. 
  • Compile EMS data and metrics for management review and regulatory reporting as directed by the system owner.

Safety Management System (SMS) Support (Phased)

Phased in as the Safety Management System migrates into the shared platform.

  • Maintain SMS documented information, including hazard identification and risk assessment records. 
  • Administer incident and near-miss reporting workflows, including linkage to the CAPA program. 
  • Support OSHA recordkeeping data entry and report generation. 
  • Track safety inspections, training completion, and audit findings through to closure.

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in quality, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quality role in the electro-mechanical and ideally with printed circuit boards with AOI, testing experience.
  • ?Strong experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvement methodologies 
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems and customer audit processes 
  • Experience interfacing directly with customers in a quality-focused role
  • Effective technical writing skills, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to engage various levels of stakeholders and team members in remote locations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Supplier auditing experience

Travel:

  • 25% domestic travel.
