Lean 6 Sigma Black Belt job at Caterpillar, Inc. Tucson, AZ. Career Area: Strategy.

Job Summary

As a Project Manager, you'll spearhead Six Sigma Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects within our Ultra Class Mining Truck Product Support Team. You will focus on projects to remove customer downtime and eliminate product defects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Six Sigma projects, driving portfolios to achieve measurable business process improvements.
  • Oversee multiple projects: focus on quality and design enhancements, lead cross‑functional team meetings, create project plans, and implement immediate customer containment actions.
  • Investigate and solve issues: identify root causes, facilitate creation and validation of solutions, and ensure successful implementation in both factory and field settings.
  • Coordinate resources by collaborating with internal partners, including engineering, logistics, purchasing, value chain, and product support teams.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in project management, such as CPI, 6 Sigma Black Belt, etc.; able to manage risk and ambiguity on a project.
  • Influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization, customer focused and drive change throughout the enterprise.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology and ability to use it to improve manufacturing processes and control improvements by eliminating root causes.
  • Problem‑solving skills, using approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
  • Active learning mindset; continuous personal growth and self‑development.
  • Analytical thinking; ability to determine root cause and create alternative solutions.
  • Process improvement focus on product quality and production methods.
  • Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or MBA curriculum.
Location & Work Requirements

This position requires the candidate to work full‑time in the Tucson, AZ office. Domestic relocation assistance is NOT available. Visa sponsorship is NOT available. The position may require a 5% domestic assignment.

Compensation

Summary Pay Range: $110,520.00 – $165,840.00. Compensation and benefits offered may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
