Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Assembles and tests electronic assemblies to meet tolerances and product specifications. Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Electronic Assemblers are self-starters who are reliable, flexible, and able to work well independently and under direct supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for assembly of inverters from assembly instructions employing high quality practices. Duties include soldering capacitors, modifying boards, assembling hardware, hi-pot testing of assemblies, and setting frequencies.
  2. Mixing and pouring adhesives to pot electronic assemblies.
  3. Responsible for accurately reporting lot codes and frequency settings.
  4. Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates including maintaining the cleanliness of the shop.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  1. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, parts, and procedures relating to assembly of electronic components.
  2. Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multi meters, and hi-pot testing equipment a plus but not required.
  3. Skilled at using hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and soldering iron.
  4. Able to input data into MS Excel spreadsheets.
  5. Capable of following written and verbal instructions.
  6. Basic math skills are useful in calculating epoxy mixings, timings, etc.
  7. This position requires a versatile person who is detail oriented, learns quickly, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  8. Manual dexterity is necessary to perform the job safely and ensure proper assembly.
  9. Ability to work well with limited supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. A high school diploma or its equivalent preferred but not required.
  2. Experience with electronic assemblies preferred but no yearsโ€™ experience are required.
