Warehouse Operator – San Angelo Location

Position Summary

PAK Quality Foods is seeking a reliable Warehouse Operator to support operations in a temperature-controlled food distribution warehouse. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, picking, and loading food products while ensuring accuracy, food safety compliance, and timely delivery to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming shipments using RF scanners, verify product quantities and quality against purchase orders.
  • Inspect goods for damage, spoilage, or temperature deviations and report discrepancies immediately.
  • Properly label and store all inventory following FIFO (First In, First Out) and company procedures.
  • Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Accurately pick and stage customer orders using RF scanners and pick tickets.
  • Ensure all products are packed, palletized, and wrapped securely for transport.
  • Load and unload trucks safely using pallet jacks, forklifts, or other approved equipment.
  • Verify outgoing shipments meet customer specifications and documentation requirements.
  • Follow all company policies related to food handling, temperature control, and sanitation per FDA and USDA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Report any product contamination, pest activity, or safety hazards immediately to management.
  • Participate in required food safety, HACCP, and workplace safety training programs.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and perform basic daily equipment inspections.
  • Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse temperature monitoring logs and corrective action documentation.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–3 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience preferred.
  • Food distribution or cold storage experience highly desirable.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and documentation.
  • Basic computer or RF scanner skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Full-time position; may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on business needs. Overtime may be required.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 90 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments (dry, refrigerated, and frozen areas).
  • Frequent exposure to cold, noise, and warehouse equipment.
  • Must be able to operate manual and powered industrial equipment safely.
