ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, Business Segment Industrial business area Hangar Large Application Doors (HLAD) of Peachtree City, GA is seeking a focused detail oriented individual to compliment our current Quality team. HLAD produces large industrial doors that will withstand tough conditions to fit our customers' needs.


SUMMARY:


The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities within a manufacturing environment involving welding, fabrication, blasting, painting, and assembly operations. This position oversees the quality processes, procedures and policies, ensures compliance with customer and company quality requirements, manages nonconforming materials and products, conducts audits, and leads corrective action initiatives. The Quality Supervisor works closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and QEHS personnel to drive continuous improvement and support operational excellence.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and other applicable quality standards.

  • Work with QEHS to develop, implement, and maintain process standards, quality alerts, and work instructions.

  • Manage nonconforming material reports (NCRs) and defect disposition activities.

  • Develop corrective action documentation and supporting materials.

  • Maintain controlled document and revision logs.

  • Collaborate with the Quality team to develop and deliver training related to quality alerts, inspection requirements, and work instructions.

  • Ensure compliance with established quality management system requirements.

  • Maintain inspection procedures, quality standards and testing requirements.

  • Monitor quality performance metrics and communicate results to management.

  • Quality KPI owenership and reporting.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and testing procedures.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and inspection methodologies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Excellent investigation skills required for root-cause analysis of process failures, warranty claims, etc.

  • Ability to use precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges.

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles preferred.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Associate’s degree in quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum five (5) years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience supporting fabrication, welding, assembly, or similar manufacturing operations.

  • Supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.

  • Experience in quality assurance, quality control, and employee training within a manufacturing environment preferred.


Preferred Certification (One or more of the following certifications preferred)



  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)

  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT)

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • Standing/walking

  • Manufacturing/industrial environment; some dust and noise

  • Ability to be mobile through our manufacturing facility on a regular basis

  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds
