Job description

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for conducting inspection, verification, and quality assurance activities related to incoming materials, work-in-process, and finished products. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing quality work, maintains a strong safety focus, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.  

Key Responsibilities

· Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished materials against specifications, control plans, and customer requirements.

· Identify and contain nonconforming material, and verify corrective actions are effective.

· Prepare PPAP/ISIR documentation to support new product launches and engineering changes.

· Audit manufacturing and inspection processes for compliance with procedures and customer requirements.

· Maintain equipment calibration and support process capability and Gage R&R studies.

· Drive root-cause problem-solving and collaborate across production, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Two to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment; metal fabrication experience preferred.

· Strong mathematical skills, including fractions, decimals, geometry, and basic trigonometry.

· Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, customer drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.

· Experience using precision measuring equipment.

· Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

· Associate degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.

· ASQ certification or equivalent quality-related training and experience.

· Experience with:

o FMEA

o Control Plans

o PPAP / ISIR

o First Article Inspection (FAI)

o Statistical Process Control (SPC)

o Process Capability Studies

o Gage R&R Studies

· Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and quality management systems.

· Knowledge of welding processes and weld inspection techniques.

· Experience with MRP/ERP systems.

Experience using portable CMM equipment and CAD-based measurement systems, including Faro or Romer arms.
