GPS is hiring an experienced Wet Chemistry Lab Technician to join a manufacturing-based laboratory in Columbia, SC
 
This is NOT a medical or clinical lab environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on chemical testing, solution preparation, and analytical work in a manufacturing chemical lab environment.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform wet chemistry lab testing.
  • Conduct chemical experiments and tests using techniques like gas chromatography and spectroscopy.
  • Prepare chemical solutions and analyze solids, liquids, and gases for compliance.
  • Monitor product quality and processing to meet standards.
  • Maintain and clean lab equipment, ensuring a safe and organized workspace.
  • Assist with plant raw material handling and maintain inventory.
  • Inspect and prepare samples for shipment, following regulatory requirements.
  • Record, compile, and interpret test results.
 
What Is Needed:
  • Education:
    • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Preferred: Associate degree in a related field
    • Coursework in Chemistry, Chemical Technology or related field. 
 
  • Experience:
    • Minimum: 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing wet lab.
 
  • Skills:
    • Basic written and verbal communication.
    • Strong math skills and knowledge of wet lab chemistry.
    • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
