ROLE PURPOSE / POSITION SUMMARY
Supervises activities of quality control/quality assurance associates within a manufacturing facility. Monitors activities to ensure quality of products produced comply with customer requirements and federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures associates comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safe, efficient operations and maintain positive working environment. Participates in continuous improvement activities.
This position has responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence. The associate in this job has the responsibility to report, in a timely manner, Food Safety and Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action on those problems.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • SQF Practitioner (Back-up)
  • Audit Support
  • Training & Development: Understand and coach others on processes, tools and standards (SOPs); ensure training requirements are met; identify and address skill gaps; discuss career interests.
  • Lead Quality Holds Investigations
  • Safety Chain Forms Update Reviewer and Dashboard Reviewer
  • Attend the Tier 3 Staff Meeting
  • Customer KPIs Push Report Reviewer
  • Develops and implements HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system, operational quality standards, batch sheets, and specification sheets for assigned facility.
  • Supervises quality control inspections, sampling, testing, and control of raw materials and during production to ensure compliance to standard requirements and customer specifications.
  • Conducts customer, regulatory, and in-house audits to ensure compliance with quality systems and processes.
  • Obtains clear understanding of customer specifications and requirements for products.
  • New Projects / Customers / Trials Lead, and Customer Calls
  • Assists in development, implementation, review, and maintenance of quality control systems and procedures, including technology system updates.
  • Non-conformance, CAPA Management, and Manage Prerequisite Programs
  • Safety Chain (Back-up Editor)
  • Lead GMP Audits (team walkthrough - 1.5 hours - all rooms)
  • Oversee Action Tracker (this will be entered and managed by QA Supervisors)
  • Manage Interns Project
  • Direct Report Performance Review and Feedback to direct reports (QA Supervisors), working with Quality Manager
  • Verification and Validation of Plant Work Instructions and Prerequisite Programs
  • Provides daily direction to hourly quality assurance technicians to ensure produced products meet quality standards provided by customer and in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitors plant activities to ensure compliance with customer expectations for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
  • Develops and implements action plans to address quality concerns or improve operations to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
