What You'll Do
The Quality Technician 1 is responsible for ensuring door and jamb assemblies meet established quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This role performs inspections of raw materials and finished products, verifies product specifications, identifies quality concerns, and communicates issues that may impact production, inventory accuracy, or customer delivery. The Quality Technician I supports a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manufacturing environment while helping the team achieve daily production and quality goals.
Location: Lake Charles, LA
Work Schedule: Onsite 7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Support and promote a strong safety culture by identifying potential hazards and communicating concerns to leadership.
  • Verify the correct assembly of door units and related components.
  • Identify and verify head jambs, leg jambs, hinges, doors, and other product components.
  • Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Verify material type, species, size, and quantity against production requirements.
  • Identify damaged materials, defects, or quality concerns and communicate issues that may affect production or delivery.
  • Perform quality checks with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support daily production goals by ensuring products meet established quality standards.
  • Verify completed units are accurate and ready for shipment or internal transfer.
  • Communicate quality issues that could impact internal customers, loaders, or delivery schedules.
  • Assist with tracking and maintaining cart numbers throughout the production process.
  • Complete and submit substitution and scrap reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accurate records related to inspections and material usage.
  • Report discrepancies, damaged materials, and inventory concerns as identified.
  • Complete assigned work accurately and efficiently each day.
  • Meet productivity expectations while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to support operational goals and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret English-language production documents and work orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret production tickets and customer specifications.
  • Knowledge of door handing, jamb species, and manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate pneumatic tools and manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively contributing to team goals.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
